Sand & Shell Collar

Part of our Lombok in Earth & Sea collection, this sculptural collar brings together pale wooden beads and irregular shell pieces in a wide circular form. The arrangement is intentionally open, allowing air and light to move through the piece and casting soft shadows behind it. Resting on a matte black museum stand, it draws focus without adding visual weight. The materials echo the coastlines of Lombok: earth-worn, salt-washed, and shaped by time.

Each collar is assembled by hand using real shell and natural wood, selected for tonal variation and surface character. The shells remain untreated to preserve their raw, textural quality. The base is crafted from metal with a matte black powder-coated finish, giving it a minimal, architectural structure. Over time, the shell may shift in tone, adding depth and softness.

This piece draws from coastal ceremonial adornments once worn to mark identity and status. The form has been reinterpreted as a sculptural object, retaining the essence of tradition while offering a refined presence for contemporary interiors. Assembled entirely by hand, each piece reflects a dialogue between past and present.
