About This Piece
Inspired by ancient Balinese coin motifs, these handcrafted Coin and Metal Statuettes blend symbolic form with sculptural design. Each figure stands tall, hands pressed in greeting, wearing a body covering of layered, round coin shapes traditionally associated with wealth, protection, or spiritual offering. In Bali these are known as Kepeng Statues, a reference to Kepeng coins, the Chinese-style coins with a square hole in the center that became woven into Balinese ritual and craft traditions. The use of Kepeng elements signals prosperity and blessing while honoring cultural exchange across centuries.
Also available in Medium Size.

Materials & Craftsmanship
The Small Coin-Metal Statuettes are shaped by hand using traditional Balinese metal-forming methods. Each coin detail is individually pressed or cut, then joined with etched surface work to create a dimensional, layered texture. The dark finish is achieved through an oxidized patina and light polishing, giving subtle tonal depth.
Artisan Heritage

Artisan Heritage
Shaped by Balinese artisans with a background in symbolic metalwork, each figure reflects a quiet balance of form and meaning. The layered coin elements reference Kepeng coins, which were historically used in Bali as everyday currency and, more importantly, as offerings in temple rites and community ceremonies.
